Horsham retirees enjoy event with Bake Off star

Local people living in Horsham and the surrounding areas were treated to the baking lesson of the century, when Great British Bake Off finalist, Chetna Makan, made a special appearance at McCarthy and Stone’s Clarence Court development last week.

The event, which was organised by the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, followed the theme of ‘sugar and spice’, and guests really were treated to all things nice as savoury and sweet recipes were on offer for people to try on the day, along with sparkling refreshments.

Committed to delivering high-quality homes for the over 60s, McCarthy and Stone hosted the event as part of its activities to encourage engagement amongst new and potential homeowners, highlighting the community spirit of the development. As part of the day, Chetna provided samples of her best loved recipes and guests were able to take away recipe cards along with pockets of bespoke spice mixes made up by Chetna herself.
