It is of course highly damaging to genuine societies.

There are today two terms that are cleverly employed to suppress rational debate and opinion.

Phobia, is a suffix much employed by ultra-liberals to condemn all particular opinion, whether of bigoted tyrants or of altruists. And also by bigots who know they are right and everyone else is wrong and phobic.

Unfortunately many people still think social ethics are self-evident, rather than dependant on underlying philosophy.
