I have just spent 10 days in the DGH and have many people to thank.

First, the two lovely ladies who came to my aid when I fell in Pococks Road on Tuesday, April 20. They called for an ambulance and stayed with me until it arrived.

Two more lovely young lady paramedics helped me and my husband and took me to A & E.

The staff there were kind and helpful, looking after me medically and getting me a tea and a sandwich whilst I was waiting to be admitted to the Acute Medical Unit.

I stayed in AMU for tests before being taken to Berwick Ward. Everything possible was done by all the dedicated staff in all departments. I was also very impressed with housekeeping, the wards were spotless. Catering kept me well fed. I want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you who has helped me over the last few weeks.

We are extremely lucky to have the DGH in our area and I for one will have no fear about the care and cleanliness of the hospital should I require their services again.
