I have to wait to take my walk because of inconsiderate cyclists

Why can’t cyclists be made to have a bell on the bike? I live on West Parade and like to take my Boris-recommended exercise on the seafront. However, during this wonderful weather we are having, I find that because of the cyclists I have to wait until the end of the day when the promenade is quieter.

I even had a cyclist on the pavement the other day. When I pointed out that pavements were only meant for pedestrians, I was treated to a response of the digital variety.
