If H2O grid is too expensive, so is HS2

IN an interview on South East News last week, the chief executive of one of the local water companies stated that the creation of a national water grid had to be ruled out because, in addition to the enormous expense of such a venture, the construction work would generate an unacceptable carbon footprint.

Why is this argument not applied to HS2?
