IT IS good to see Arun District Council and the Gazette supporting the World's Longest Bench, another innovative project which continues the regeneration of Littlehampton.

Perhaps those people who criticised the bench when it was first announced will respect the memory of Anita Roddick, who enthusiastically supported the project, and whose husband Gordon Roddick has made a generous donation towards the cost, and keep their ill-mannered and ungrateful comments to themselves.
