International award for Arunside School

In order to gain this award there has to be teaching and learning of International topics. The children learn about similarities and differences of life and culture in other countries and compare it to their own. They work on joint projects with their partner schools. Arunside School has strong links with schools in France and Kenya.

“We sing African songs, have simple conversations in French, greet each other in a variety of languages and count in different languages too. Our teaching and learning includes areas with an International focus”, said Ms Knight the school’s International Links coordinator. “Children at Arunside are developing an International awareness which helps them to understand the world in which they live. We are all very excited to receive such an award.”
