It should be moral

REGARDING your report on page 19 of last week's Observer: 'Rother advised on sex entertainment', I was surprised to read that Rother District Council now has suitable licensing powers to hand and that the council will not entertain objections to applications on moral grounds.

I wonder why a local authority can think that moral issues can be ignored when considering license applications from businesses?

One would hope that a prime aspect of all council work would be moral.
