It's a great shame

WHAT a shame that our uniquely spacious esplanade and grand Edwardian shelters have gone forever, together with the fun-filled entertainment of crazy golf and putting, not to mention the ice-cream and beachwear kiosk, only to be replaced by a shrubbery and picnic lawn.

What good will this be on the splendid but windy sea front of Bexhill? The beauty of the esplanade was that it was planned so that many people at once could walk along it and look at the spectacular coastline.

Now they will all be bunched together in a very small area of the seaside.

Why are the new shelters so flimsy? You need something more substantial on Bexhill seafront. I can tell you, they won’t last five minutes.

Let’s hope that the plants which have been so painstakingly arranged will do well.
