Keep your child out of harms way

I FEEL the letter from Ivor Llewellyn-Jones (Observer, June 29) begs the question - What on earth was the mother thinking of to allow a three-year-old child to run along a very busy road ahead of her without proper supervision or control?

She should be charged by the police for lack of parental care.

When my wife took our son out, unless in his pushchair, he was on reigns, which kept him under her control and out of harm’s way.

He is now thirty-six-years-old so perhaps parents were a bit more caring then and not of the culture of ‘well it’s the responsibility of everyone else to ensure the safety of my child, and if not I can always sue.’
