LETTER: Aircraft noise

You mentioned that permission had been given for a new primary school in the Crawley area which will be undoubtably be welcomed by local residents.

What you did not mention is the fact that this school will be less than a mile from the end of a new runway if Gatwick management get their way.

Forge Wood Primary School will be subjected to arrival and departure aircraft with no respite, as will all those that are to live in the new housing currently being built.

Gatwick have continued to spend millions lobbying government for a second runway, spending £1,051,523 with Transport for London alone, whilst giving no consideration to the impact it will have not only with the lack of infrastructure but also how the 560,000 flights a year will destroy the areas surrounding as it aims to be larger than Heathrow.

It is a known fact that aircraft noise has a significant impact on health, especially children and their learning capabilities and yet Gatwick’s spin doctors continue to push ahead with more adverts and spin. Residents need to write to the Prime Minister who graced our area last week and suffered the terrible railway line that Gatwick is only serviced by. Email the PM and tell him Gatwick’s Big Enough!
