At West Sussex County Council, we are looking for foster carers and adoptive parents from all walks of life to come forward. A person’s marital status or sexuality simply isn’t as important as ensuring they can offer a safe, secure and stable home to a vulnerable child or young person.

We look for people who will be good parents, who are patient, energetic, with a good sense of humour and who will treat children and young people as individuals, whilst being able to maintain boundaries and provide the security our children need.

If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and are interested in becoming an adoptive parent or foster carer, we’d like to invite you to come along to our open evening to find out more.

It’s being held on Tuesday, March 11, from 7pm-9pm, at Field Place, The Boulevard, Worthing, BN13 1NP and will provide a friendly and informal environment to discuss any questions you may have about the adoption/fostering process.

I would also strongly urge anyone who has considered fostering or adoption to get in touch with us by calling 0330 222 7775.

Alternatively you can find out more by visiting www.westsussex.gov.uk/fosteringor www.westsussex.gov.uk/adoption respectively.
