LETTER: Councillor Croft should just resign
I find Cllr Helena Croft’s (Deputy Leader and councillor for Roffey North) response to the story ‘Resident ‘concerned’ council asked paper to release his letters’ – quite unsatisfactory.
She tries to hide behind a totally unconvincing statement about ‘how… the communications department operates’ and she tries to question the integrity of Joshua Powling by stating ‘You did not give the source of the information’.
She knows that journalists do not have to divulge sources.
Indeed the quality of his investigations over the year into the secret goings on in the council has been a real service to the electorate.
Why didn’t she just apologise? Or better still – resign.
