LETTER: Flooding fears for Crawley

I note the two reports in your on-line edition (www.crawleyobserver.co.uk) of the 4th January detailing the need for Crawley firefighters to secure two vehicles affected by flooding in Lowfield Heath Road near Gatwick, and also reporting Environment Agency flood alerts affecting various parts of Crawley.

This is happening before the possibility of a vast area south of Gatwick being covered in concrete if expansion of the airport is given the go ahead. I cannot be the only local resident to be concerned about

the implications of this being allowed to happen on the potential for further and more serious future flooding in the area.
