LETTER: Great memories of maternity unit
I read the article about the Horsham Maternity Unit and the picture is brilliant!
I have great memories of Horsham Maternity Unit in 1977 having come back from Crawley Hospital where I had my second son, Adam. Although it was a bit old fashioned (compared to Crawley) the nursing staff were brilliant.
They were slightly older nurses (most having had children themselves) and they had amazing ‘old school’ experience on how to look after your baby as it was all new to you!
When you were nursing your baby you could look out into Horsham Park and see what other people were doing while you were in hospital!
