LETTER: Guidelines for cycle lanes

In your article about the cycle lanes in Parsonage Road, West Sussex County Council is quoted as saying their independent safety review has not identified a problem.

Given that the width of the lanes does not meet Department of Transport guidelines I would be interested if WSCC could tell us who are their independent reviewers and what experience they have of cycling infrastructure.

Will the review on completion use the same independent reviewer and will the DoT guidelines be considered? It seems a right turn lane has been created to the detriment of cyclists.
