LETTER: Hospital stay

I wish to thank everyone concerned at Worthing Hospital for the excellent care I received during my recent stay.

From the ambulance service for their prompt response to our call in the early hours of that Saturday, for arranging for a neighbour to sit with my wife and to the accident and emergency department for meeting the ambulance and quickly diagnosing my problem.

All of this combined brought me back to the land of the living.

Once out of the accident and emergency department, the excellent care continued onto the acute medical unit and Eastbrook ward.

The consultant and her team ensured continuity of care and all the nurses and ancillary staff delivered professional care with the utmost kindness and patience.

Once I was able to eat, the food was at its usual high standard. Three years ago my wife’s life was saved during a ten-week in-patient stay and the Shoreline restaurant took care of me as a paying customer with their fantastic food. It certainly made a change choosing my meals from my hospital bed this time! Still the same great choice with the same great food.

Yet again, Worthing Hospital has come through for my family and I and we could not be happier that it’s our local hospital.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
