LETTER: How can C.P.E cost so much?

How on earth can it cost Â£500,000 to set up a C.P.E system, and cost Â£400,000 to run each year?

Surely it makes sense to employ one warden to patrol the town and issue tickets to illegally parked vehicles, with demands for £60 fines to be paid within 14 days and if not paid within this times, the fine will be doubled.

I’m sure a warden will not expect a salary of £400,000 a year. Can the county council give a detailed account of how they arrive at these pie-in-the-sky amounts?
