LETTER: Lions supporting our community

In early March 2015 Horsham Lions delivered a decorated 1kg chocolate Easter Egg to 25 local pubs and businesses as part of our Springtime Fundraising Effort for those in most need in the community we all serve.

Following a good deal of hard work, right up the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend, the staff at these local pubs and businesses raised a total of £2,295.42 by selling up to 176 squares on each of the 25 raffle boards to their clients or customers.

Lion President Clare and all the members of Horsham Lions Club, wish to thank all the staff of the 25 local pubs and businesses for supporting the event and for the generosity of everybody who participated in the Easter Egg Raffle. To the winners of the Easter Eggs, we hope you enjoyed the experience of devouring a kilo of chocolate.

The money collected will be spent to help those people in our Horsham community who need help.

Horsham Lions wish to continue with the work in our community and beyond, but in order to do so it would most helpful, to have additional ‘community minded people’, join us, who would enjoy giving some of their free time.

As can be seen by the above event, we also enjoy having fun and socialising.

With the support of the Swan Walk Management we will be occupying a shop unit in Swan Walk between 10am and 4pm on Thursday 11 June and Friday 12 June 2015when we will be providing ‘Message In A Bottle’ containers for anyone with health issues. Why not come along and learn more about Horsham Lions Club and its members.
