LETTER: Long trek to new store for seniors
In the County Times of May 30, page 34, the drawing of the proposed new Waitrose store shows the water feature as the town centre.
I have lived in the area for 85 years and the centre of our town is the Carfax, Causeway and West Street. The water feature was an addition only a few years ago.
We senior citizens who can’t walk very far appreciate the Waitrose store in its present position because of the proximity of the Post Office, banks, doctors and dentist surgeries, the Carfax seating and the bus stop. It will be a long trek to the new site.
