LETTER: Millais School in history search

We are currently looking for any old photographs linked to, and before and after pictures of, the site where Forest Girls’ School was built in Depot Road, Horsham.

I have been unable to find anything relating to the Army depot that was reputedly nearby. It may be that land could have been associated with the forest or attached to the house where the Millais relative lived on Comptons Lane?

We are hoping to build up a display of the journey the school took from 1956 to new build currently under way and to bring this together in July before the Hills building (fire-damaged area block) gets demolished to start phase 2 of the programme.

Would you be able to put a request out asking for any items we could borrow to copy, use in an exhibition in July or seek any names or organisations that may be able to help or speak to us to build up the memories and history?
