LETTER: New councilllors aren’t ‘yes men’

Reading that 40 per cent of backbench councillors have tabled a motion to tear-up Cllr Vickers’ and Dawe’s hated local housing plan (JPCT 11.06.15) has restored my confidence in local politicians.

Too often we complain that councillors do not listen to us – well what a difference an election makes.

In February Horsham Conservative Association cleared out some of the ‘dead wood’ of councillors who didn’t listen to the electorate or respect the past 20 years of housing policies of Horsham District Council.

Finally we have Conservative councillors who listen to the electorate and understand the importance of protecting our countryside from greedy developers like the American owned Liberty property trust. These councillors clearly aren’t ‘yes men’ and Ray Dawe is in for a bloody nose.
