LETTER: No money for important signs

There seems to be general rejoicing that over £600,000 of taxpayers’ money has been spent on removing some of the paving in Horsham’s West Street and replacing it with a snake-like pattern of paving in a lighter colour.

In your issue of December 5 Leslie Brooks, 81, reports on his fall in West Street avoiding an illegal cyclist. He had to spend many months in hospital last summer.

The ‘No Cycling’ signs had been removed but the county council say that these will be reinstated ‘...in the next financial year’.

Presumably the county council cannot afford to replace them now.
