LETTER: No proposal to close surgeries

In the feature written by Dr Heath in the County Times on August 21, he seems to have over-reacted to the Clinical Commissioning Group’s suggestion that three central surgeries might like to relocate to a more spacious purpose built surgery at Broadbridge Heath to help serve the new west of Horsham housing estates.

I attended the public meeting of the CCG at the Drill Hall on 31st July and all that I heard Drs Patel and Dean say then was a suggested proposal in order to get a public response.

In the CCG’s 5 Communities Plan there is no proposal to close three surgeries in the centre of Horsham.

I do not believe that the CCG will ask three surgeries to move to Broadbridge Heath against their will.

I agree with Dr Heath’s arguments in favour of retaining the surgeries in the town centre, and obviously most of their patients prefer that location.
