LETTER: Parking - it's no joking matter

We have major parking problems in parts of Tilgate too, and the council should be looking for solutions, but Crawley families having to give up their much-needed vehicles out of frustration is not one of those solutions!

Labour councillor Peter Smith is apparently fully aware of the parking problems in Crawley and has been for quite a while. In 2010 he submitted a document suggesting making car use more difficult by having less parking spaces, hoping to make you, the people of Crawley give up on your private cars out of frustration and use the bus instead.

So, for him to point the finger at West Sussex County Council when he stated in a document that WSCC needed a specific policy of less parking spaces has got to be a joke, right?
