LETTER: Right or wrong about rat run?

So county councillor Lionel Parsons believes he is right and almost everyone else is wrong regarding the obvious solution to the traffic chaos in West Street, Sompting.

The closure of both Church Lane and Dankton Lane (yes, Dankton with a ‘k’ not a ‘c’ councillor – have you ever been there?) to traffic trying to dodge our gridlocked A27 is such an obvious plan that it defies belief that anyone could oppose it.

As usual it is a ‘stick your head in the sand and do nothing’ reaction.

As for the £50,000 cost, it sounds relatively cheap to me to solve a problem that should have been tackled years ago and will only get worse if nothing is done about it soon (a new IKEA and 600 new houses just down the road will inevitably add to the chaos).

County councillors are elected by the people, please listen to them!

Dankton Gardens,

Sompting
