LETTER: Struggle to use post facilities

A few days before Christmas, when the post box in Horsham was full, I sat on the seat opposite watching a dark surreal world, mid-winter like a Lowry painting, a world that I belonged to as well.

There were so many elderly people going into the Post Office or trying to post their cards in the full post box.

Some went into the Post Office using sticks, others were using push trolleys with little seats and a basket on the front for shopping.

The most disabled were using small motorised buggies to join the queue to post a parcel to a loved one, something they had done for years being part of the Christmas festivities.

How dare the Post Office think of changing this yearly pilgrimage to the back of WH Smith’s.
