LETTER: Tremendous work by volunteers

I attended the Governors’ Conference on Saturday at County Hall North in Horsham, and was privileged to be able to listen to Sir Tim Brighouse. He was inspirational.

But what really struck me was the number of governors present at that conference. Governors are a very committed body of volunteers who have ever increasing responsibilities being placed upon them. As a clerk to governors I am fully aware of the pressures but continue to be in awe of these volunteers who come from all walks of life.

I would like to express my personal thanks to all governors and also to the team at West Sussex for putting together such an interesting and informative conference.
