LETTER: Why isn’t Maude at the inquiry?

You report that MPs Sir Nicholas Soames (Mid-Sussex) and Nick Herbert (Arundel and South Downs) are to speak at the public inquiry against the proposal by Mayfield Market Town for a new town in the south of Horsham District (6.11.14, p15, Horsham ed.)

But why isn’t our MP Francis Maude similarly attending the public inquiry and speaking against the building in the Strategic Gap of more than 2,500 homes, a 500,000 sq ft industrial and warehouse park, a secondary school in the wrong place, and the way that leader Ray Dawe and his deputy Helena Croft ensured that this flawed plan was pushed through by use of punishments and the sackings of councillors?
