LETTER: Working to keep siblings together

In West Sussex, we need 60 or more adopters every year to provide permanent homes for children who, for whatever reason, are unable to stay with their birth families.

We have a particular need for people who can consider adopting siblings.

If you have brothers or sisters, you’ll know just how important the bond between siblings can be. It’s why we work hard to keep siblings together, where possible.

You may have thought about adoption, but thought you might not be able to adopt, perhaps because you are single or in a same sex relationship. You might be surprised to learn that you could think again.

We encourage prospective families from all walks of life to come forward. You can apply to adopt regardless of your marital status, sexuality, gender, cultural or ethnic background.

Deciding to adopt is life-changing. You would be making a life-long commitment to be a parent, but you won’t be alone.
