Since then these golf days have raised over £10,000 for deserving local charities, including the Mary How Trust for Cancer Prevention and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Trust.

This year we are supporting the Air Ambulance again as they have launched an appeal for funds for equipment that will enable the Air Ambulance to fly at night.

The charity does excellent work and is well worthy of support, especially as it receives no statutory funding and relies almost entirely on the generosity of the public to maintain the service.

This year’s golf day will be on Friday, October 9 at West Chiltington Golf Club.

For an entry fee of £40 per person, golfers will enjoy coffee and bacon roll on arrival in the morning, 18 holes of golf, followed by a two-course meal.

There are both team and individual prizes on a stableford basis, plus special prizes at selected holes.

So why not come along for an enjoyable day’s golf while supporting a worthy charity at the same time?

Teams comprise four golfers, although you can enter as an individual, and entry forms can be downloaded from the Billingshurst Lions website www.e-clubhouse.org/sites/billingshurst/contact.php
