I am a front line care worker and, as you know, we have all been facing difficulties with the pandemic.

I am finding it very difficult to understand why the latest lockdown hasn’t or doesn’t seem to be enforced in Sussex.

I travel a lot doing my job at all different times of the day and week and find the volume of traffic on the road quite daunting as we are supposed to be locked down.

The occupants of the vehicles are not singular as assumed, but car loads of adults, and families going for drives out to locations on the Downs etc.

I have witnessed full cars of people disembarking in quite country lanes to walk in groups in the countryside.

I have seen a small mini bus full, with not a single person on board wearing a mask.

My neighbours even have visitors going into their house and even having sleep overs, and I have even seen a group of people embracing one another in the street.

So I was just wondering how many of these people that catch Covid-19 will blame the government for the reason they have contacted the virus?

But surely if this lockdown had been policed and the people had been fined for breaking the rules, then people would be less likely to break rules and there would possibly have been a reduction in the spread of this virus.

It has been a battle for us all, but it could be easier if people listen to what the government asks, and not go out there with the attitude of that ‘it doesn’t apply to me’.

Myself and my work colleagues are all as important as the nurses and doctors in the hospitals, just think if you develop long Covid it is people like me that will be there to help.

So we need to tell them to help us so we can help them, and to do this is to STAY HOME AND SAVE LIVES.

We will all be touched by this before it’s finished.

Many thanks for hearing me.
