I am a volunteer in one of the charity shops in Terminus Road which are currently shut due to lockdown.

Now the other day I came into town to get some essential shopping.

I went to the shop where I work just to check it was okay and there were two bin bags just left outside the shop.

Now here is my complaint. Our shop is shut at the moment we cannot take in new donations until the lockdown is over.

I have seen this happen outside several charity shops that are closed. It is a form of fly tipping.

Plus, the fact they will get opened by seagulls who think there might be food in there for them. Which will cause a litter problem.

So please people of Eastbourne think before you drop off.

Wait until the lockdown is over then bring in the donations. We cannot guarantee our volunteers will be passing that day on which you leave donations outside.

It was just lucky that I was there that day. And those bags didn’t get stolen. Which I also saw happen on New Year’s Day last year.
