Machines are not the best idea

I had reason to park in the DLWP car park today and came upon the new pay machines for the first time (when did that happen?).

There was an air of general confusion in the queues of people waiting to purchase tickets, could they put coins in, etc?

It would seem that a contactless debit/credit card is the preferred method, and being fairly ‘tech savvy’ I was able to retrieve a ticket after entering the first four digits of my car’s number plate, and various messages appeared on the screen.

On my return, I had to swipe my card again to validate the amount of time spent in the car park otherwise, failure to do this, would incur a full charge of time spent up to 2000 hours on the same day!

The instructions on the machine were in small print and had already worn away in places.

Not the best idea for Bexhill and its many senior citizens!
