Model way to raise cash aid

Steyning’s Oxfam shop raised more than £600 for the Philippines appeal with its annual fashion show. A team of volunteers worked hard to create outstanding outfits from the shop’s donated goods, resulting in a fantastic evening.

They also modelled the glamorous evening and day wear outfits on the catwalk, with musician David Wylie-Sporne playing guitar. Compere Nick Rowling made it a lively show for more than 60 guests, who bought tickets for the event.

Oxfam shop manager Gail Armstrong said: “I would like to thank all our customers who have supported us by either donating fantastic clothes and accessories or raffle prizes - and for giving their time and attendance on the evening.”

Funds raised, £615, went directly towards the Philippines crisis, supporting Oxfam’s work in providing seeds, tools for farmers, water and sanitation equipment.
