Cafes and restaurants are taking part by raising money from their warming products in order to support local vulnerable people during the colder months.

December will see The White Horse Smokehouse and Grill in Steyning getting on board by donating £1 from their ‘Christmas In A Glass’, a hot winter cocktail that warms you up and will also warm up a local older person.

Drop in and try something unique as part of your Christmas and New Year celebrations. In Horsham town head to The REAL Eating Company’s cafes on East Street or in Swan Walk and help warm up an older person through buying any of their hot drinks.

Helena Hudson, founder of The REAL Eating Company said:“We are approached regularly by local charities to help them in their fund-raising efforts for worthwhile causes. We are an independent, small business and feel that we should do something for the local community where we work and make our sales.

“In Horsham, we are supporting a very worthwhile and prescient cause this Christmas – to help elderly people across Horsham through the ‘Spread the Warmth’ campaign organised by Age UK Horsham District.

“We will be contributing 5p from EVERY hot drink that we sell in December which we expect will raise considerable funds to help many more elderly people stay warm this Christmas in Horsham.”
