My gratitude to the anonymous and kind helpers

The ambulance crew were wonderful and caring. He had full attention all the way to Worthing, including a drip to help him.

By the time he finally got onto a ward, it was beginning to get dark and I had to get to the bus stop.

When I got to the main road, three young girls came along, and as I was feeling weak, I asked if one of them could give me an elbow.

They saw me to the bus stop, where another lady was waiting.

We had no idea about bus times and all waited ages.

Eventually one of the girls used her mobile to phone my son in Littlehampton, and he came and fetched us, dropping off the other grateful lady on the way.

I understood that my three helpers had quite a way to go home, in the opposite direction, but I wanted, through your paper, to say a heartfelt, proper thank-you, even though they may not see this.
