I’m anti Amazon and every opportunity I get , I speak against shopping on Amazon.

The damage this is doing to our way of life is for all to see from gig economy growth where minimum wage becomes norm and aspirations for our school and university leavers become limited to working in a giant warehouse where you are constantly watched and there is no differentiation in performance.

Delivery processes also leads to huge traffic issues with the damage it does to our health via air pollution.

Both Eastbourne and East Sussex must recognise the impact on shops succeeding in Eastbourne and all the taxes successfully run shops give to both Eastbourne and East Sussex.

They need to take concrete actions and one to implement immediately is to provide free parking to encourage families to come to Eastbourne.

To work out the benefits of this us to extract the revenue from car parking versus loss of business rates from closed shops .
