The workshop challenged the teams to design an energy efficient production line for a Nestlé product, along with taking part in a presentation and interactive team questions.

Lucy Hargreaves from the college’s Progression Directorate was delighted: “The workshop went really well. The students all worked very hard and were incredibly enthusiastic throughout a busy event.”

Natasha Moore, from MyKindaCrowd said: “This was a thoroughly enjoyable and successful visit with your Year 12 and 13 students.

“All that participated were promising and eligible candidates for the final assessment at Gatwick, which made it all the more difficult to select finalists. All this to say, your students are excellent!

“They were proactive, produced outstanding work and demonstrated a mature and professional approach to the tasks in hand.”

Six ‘stand out’ students were selected to attend the ‘Assessment Day’ on 5th June, at Nestlé’s Gatwick HQ, where they will have the chance to pitch their ideas to Nestlé staff and compete against students from other schools for two weeks paid work experience within Nestlé. The six students selected are: Caragh Green, Adam Hodson, Alannah Marchewka, Rebecca Nugent, Jack Render and Richard Waldron.

“We look forward to seeing them again in the near future, and please reiterate my thanks and congratulations to all the students who attended, as well as those that made it to the Assessment Day.”

Vice Principal Steve Nicholls said: “These students are quite simply a credit to Collyer’s and Horsham and we are exceptionally proud of them.

“Thank-you so much to Lucy and Natasha for making this fantastic workshop possible.”
