New road to where exactly?

Has anyone noticed the signage along the new link road?

On approaching this route from the Bexhill side there is no indication that this road will take you to Hastings or St Leonards – all signs state the road is going to London and Battle.

There is a small pictorial sign which proclaims ‘Hastings Ind. Estates’ and it is only when you reach the very end of this road at the Queensway junction that a sign indicates that on the right hand turn the road will go to Hastings and Crowhurst – no mention of St Leonards and Hastings.

This is a truly shocking situation – what fool decided to erect these road signs?

Where was Hastings Borough Council when these signs were approved?

Has someone got it in for St Leonards and Hastings?

Are we known only for industrial estates? What about our castle?

What about our country park? What about our fabulous Old Town?

What about all the other things which attract so many to our town?

Something needs to be done about this without delay otherwise we shall end up with visitors proceeding to by pass Hastings and St Leonards altogether and proceed to Battle or London.

Surely this is not what was expected – they hack all our trees down, compromise our wildlife and upset many residents and then decide that it really will be a ‘bypass’ – good enough for Hastings? I don’t think so.

This is 1066 country and everyone needs to know that this is where this expensive road will take you.
