LABC is a member organisation representing local authority building control in England and Wales.

They promote the design and construction of safe, accessible, environmentally efficient buildings that comply with the Building Regulations.

Their awards recognise good buildings, focusing on the construction and building control as opposed to architectural design.

Furthermore, the awards showcase buildings and design teams that have had to tackle technical issues and difficult sites leading to innovative and creative solutions.

All entries are judged by a panel of industry experts.

The award ceremony will take place on 28th June at The Grand hotel in Brighton and all winners will automatically qualify for the National Building Excellence Awards in London in November.

Nigel Wait, Managing Director of Newbridge Nurseries, commented: “We were absolutely delighted to receive the email to inform us that we had been shortlisted. Stooks was a huge project for us to undertake so to be recognised in this way means a lot.

“The café has been extremely successful so far and this really is the icing on the cake. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for their continued support.”
