No policing of town parking

Mr Sleet's parking safety fears are something that affect a lot of residents throughout Bexhill, Chantry Avenue being one of them; for years subjected to inconsiderate parking on a daily basis by visitors and outpatients at Bexhill Hospital, making it difficult and sometimes dangerous accessing driveways.

At least the Pebsham Lane problem will come to an end eventually, not so in the hospital area.

If you ask a driver to park a couple of feet further along, away from the driveway, to allow better access, you may very well get threatened with ‘bashing’ with the walking stick they are wielding (yes it happened!). The problem is that there is no policing of parking in Bexhill.

Whatever people may think of civil enforcement officers (traffic wardens) and contrary to popular belief, their purpose is not to be vindictive to those breaking the rules but to make sure that we all park safely, isn’t that why they were introduced in the first place, because an inconsiderate few were causing problems for the many.
