Not in my backyard
I totally sympathise with Julie Rossall`s letter last week.
On the few occasions I have written to various members of Parliament regarding the Link Road I have mentioned the fact that people who live on the London Road and Buxton Drive will be sandwiched between two roads. Naturally, the only reply I received was that my letter would be passed onto the appropriate department.
I telephoned a local councillor for that area and was told that the residents would get some form of compensation. This seemed to me to be nothing in comparison to the noise and pollution they will suffer.
I believe that the residents of this area have every reason to say - NOT IN MY BACK YARD - as the road will literally be in their back yard..
