One fatality ok?

IN reply to Mr Akhurst letter (Thursday, July 12) I am infuriated that he seems to think that “only one fatality in recent years” is ok, would he have the same opinion if that one fatality was his relative? I think not.

Pagetts Crossing might be an ancient footpath, but they did not have high speed trains running through it at that time.

There are two alternative crossings a few yards either side of Pagetts Crossing for Mr Akhurst to use, surely that is enough crossings on such a short strip of railway.

I think all these types of foot crossings should be closed to improve the safety of crossing the railway for all.
