Bexhill does not need a Bexhill Area Committee, such a committee would not have decision making capabilities nor decide on council tax spending. It would be nothing more than a talking shop.

Bexhill does need a full town council and this is the option the ruling party in Rother does not want us to have.

To maintain the status quo they have loaded the Steering Group with their members and installed a chairman opposed to such a council.

This is hardly democracy. They have even excluded the public from the meetings and minutes of the Steering Group to make sure that Bexhill remains the ‘cash cow’ for the rest of Rother.

Bexhill is the only town in East Sussex that does not have its own town council and even has to pay Rother to manage Bexhill’s affairs (Bexhill Special Expenses and Charter Trustees Expenses) from our Council Tax.

Bexillians must demand a full Bexhill Town Council thus deciding how specific Bexhill taxes are spent as well as claiming Bexhill’s share (15 per cent) of the CIL levy from developers.
