Parking will only get worse

There are 150 parking bays in the Mount Street Car Park. You can buy a yearly parking ticket for £815.

Is it any wonder that dentists, vets, nurses, jewellers and any other professional person, such as bakers, cobblers and all the other tradesmen who keep this great town moving, enjoy the privilege of parking for free on Caldbec Hill?

Meanwhile, us, the proletariat, have to pay everyday to park in Battle. No wonder people shop online or even visit Sainsburys, Tesco or any other supermarket.

Once again, today, there was a complete line of parked cars, vans and lorries all parked down the High Street. Cars even parked on double yellow lines.

I recently watched a coach from Europe edge its way down the High Street. Luckily, there were vehicles parked on both sides of the road. It reminded me of that picture, you must of seen it, of cattle walking up to market, cows everywhere along the High Street.

They are building even more properties on Caldbec Hill. All the traders will soon need to find a parking space even earlier.
