Please think again on Eastbourne health centre!

Please councillors, think again!

I was horrified to hear councillors back the closure of The Eastbourne Station Health Centre.

This purpose-built, accessible centre, with its competent and compassionate team, should be winning awards for excellence, not facing constant threats of closure.

Our MP conducted research and found there are not enough GP places for the more than 3,000 people registered there to go elsewhere.

This surgery is fully accessible and easily found.

The location is unique with easy, safe drop off points nearby, taxi rank, bus stop, disabled and other parking, even a nearby cycle rack!

More importantly, within walking distance for the many without transport.

Why should you think it suitable to send more people to the DGH for services this centre can provide?

At DGH parking is difficult and expensive, car sharing and the giving of lifts is currently discouraged; and unwell people should not be using public transport.
