Poor road surfaces

AFTER reading In the Bexhill Observer that Wrestwood Road is about to be closed for 'road patching' I can only hope that this is a misprint. To my knowledge, these particular holes in the road, have been patched up twice before.

If this road is to be closed for five days, resurfacing with tarmac would last much longer.

I thought that “patch ‘m up Percy” had been made redundant. I have recently returned from a week’s holiday in Dorset where even their road surfaces in country lanes are better than our main roads. In conclusion, I and many other people believe, that our roads and pavements are a real disgrace. Who knows what damage is being done to the suspension on our cars? Country-wide, we all pay the same road tax. It is high time that these problems were addressed.
