Praise from Australia

I RECENTLY visited relatives in Bexhill and was very impressed with the development along the sea front. It was obvious that a great deal of work and effort had gone into the transformation, but my father told me that not everyone was happy with it.

I was surprised, and think there is something there for everyone. The plants look like they have been carefully chosen to thrive in the salty and not altogether warm climate, and the new shelters look funky and provide seating for the weary.

I heard that they were rough to touch and people have complained about this, but they look fantastic and didn’t appear to be too dangerous. We also had fun playing with the ear trumpets and had a very pleasant stroll on a blustery summer’s day.
