The sheer inefficiency of the BBC in setting up payments for our over-75s television licence payments is almost beyond belief.

Our over 75s licence expired on May 31st. We then waited for the BBC to send us the forms to fill in. These did not arrive until August when filling them in on August 14th we expected to pay £13.12 per month.

We were concerned when no money had been taken from our bank account as we instructed. We waited and late October exactly the same forms arrived yet again.

Speaking to a BBC man on the phone my wife concluded the original forms had been lost somewhere at the BBC.

The BBC man calculated that owing to the delay our payments would now be £19 per month.

Regularly checking our bank account shows still no payments have been taken out.

Considering we have been led to believe these payments are vital for maintaining BBC’s high level of entertainment we find that claim to be laughable.
